Transitioning Age Youth (TAYO)

About us

FAJ introduced its Transition Age Youth Program TAYO in early 2019 for young adults who are transitioning out of high school into college or into the workforce. TAYO provides workshops that focus on mental health, personal skills and professional development that will equip them to be successful, empowered and have the agency to achieve their personal goals. TAYO operates through monthly general workshops and organizing opportunities.

TAYO’s participants in the SLDP program have bolstered opportunities to engage in organizing efforts within the community as well as shaping their own workshops for community members. These mainstay programs are an opportunity for folks to sustainably continue their community involvement and engagement.

Ohlone Queer Chisme Hour

TAYO’s Queer Chisme Hour is housed within Ohlone College’s Multicultural center, to provide a space for LGBTQ+ young adults to address current issues in their community.

FAJ TAYO x Barangay Chabot

FAJ TAYO collaborates with the student body at Barangay Chabot, to develop educational workshops about Filipino culture and history. TAYO extends to them their resources and knowledge in organizing and campaigning.
